2008 [31 Dec 2008|02:16pm]
Yes its the end of the year once again, and I'm going to do my traditional end of the year highlight entry.
First and foremost I can't believe the year went by that fast. I think I blinked and the year was over.
But I'm not going to make a long detailed entry like I did last year cause A LOT happened throughout the year of 07. But anyways, highlights of '08' The one year we actually had a winter and I was working outside reading meters.

-Saw Justin graduate from VMI, that was cool.

-I went and saw Stone Temple Pilots this year at the Filmore in Downtown Detroit that same night the RED WINGS won the Stanley cup!! Lets just say I didn't watch too much of the concert.

-We lost a lot of great celebs this year: George Carlin, Paul Neuman etc.

-I moved to New York

-I started school at Elmira College in New York and I haven't had a job since the first week of August.

-Megsy's Wedding weekend in October--that was a whole lot of fun.

-Probably the biggest Highlight this year though, was OUR WEDDING!! It was a lot of fun, everyone had fun. And it was all smiles all around that night, and that's all that mattered!!

To wrap up this year, I really didn't get to travel as much, or go to concerts. But I did do a lot of back and forth driving from New York n' Michigan--as I will be doing in the next couple years or so.
But the greatest things that happened this year is when the Wings won the Stanley cup and of course our wedding.

Now I'm still in the process of getting used to living here in New York. I can't stand the people here, they're very rude--I hate the people that live below us because their kids are in constant LOUD mode.

We got a bunny this year too, Tweak. I haven't had a rabbit since I was a kid. I've never had an indoor rabbit though. Tweak is somewhat potty-trained. He's about 4 months now, we got him when he was about a month old. Lately he's been very aggressive, yesterday he attacked and bit me 5 times, 3 of the bites drew blood, like...gushing blood...So he is getting his balls chopped off next week Wednesday. Hopefully that'll help, I'm so attached to that damn rabbit, and it kills me to just look at him in his cage, I can't pick him up cause he'll bite me. (obviously)

BUT besides that, this year was a FANTASTIC year!! Here's to a great year and lets hope we can do the same in 2009!!

So here I sit, living in upstate New York, married and about ready to finish school this year.
What else new will I have to accomplish? My Master's degree yes, but I want to get experience with my BA before I get started on that. What am I going to do with a BA in history?
It all seems so far away but in reality its closer than I think...
Sometimes I feel like I'm locked in a dream, it was just yesterday I was wandering MCC's campus wondering what the hell I really wanted to do with my life? "Art teacher? eh sure! Why not!? I'll start my own Comic Illustration class somewhere!"...yeah that didn't work. "How bout my minor History?...Alright sounds good!"

Have I mentioned that there are spawns of satan living under us?
I guess you'll have an annoying neighbor where ever you go, right?

Okay, I have a bone to pick with some of these commercials on t.v. right now.
K, there's Target with "Hello Goodbye" by The Beatles...where their slogan is Hello Goodbuy...Uhhh that song is not about going out and buying shit at Target..(by far the most annoying of all of them)
second, there's "I get by with a Little Help From My Friends" ANOTHER Beatles song appearing on a bank...or financial adviser commercial of some sort....yeah...song is not about that....again
Today I saw a General Electric commercial promoting "nature's rain" I'unno I was just too flustered with what song they were using....what do they use for their song, CCR's "Have You Ever Seen Rain?"
I saw a Chase commercial using "All You Need Is Love" yet ANOTHER Beatles song. Granted I don't care much for that song in the first place. Seeing all these songs on commercials ticks me off. Their exposing the song in the wrong form. First off, they're not even the original artist singing the song. It could have a plus, introducing these songs to a new generation, great, but its in the wrong context, if you want to get some good exposure go listen to 104.3, or 94.7 on the radio, or the equivalent to that. Another reason why some of this pisses me off, is the fact that Michael Jackson owns the rights to the Beatles songs, so that son of a bitch is cashing in on these commercials.

But whatever its just what I'm thinking. I got all upset over Across the Universe and I Am Sam too, I refuse to see them...cause they look uhhh....dumb---directors are running out of ideas if you ask me.

But that was my happy rant for today

(Welcome back McCarty!!!---and hopefully the Grind Line!!!)

Hi Livejournal, How are you?
I know Myspace has taken over the world, but don't worry it'll die out eventually...and then everyone will crawl back to you don't you worry.

Anyways, I would just like to state
that I hate snow, I hate walking in it and I hate looking at it

Please ship our snow back to Antarctica---because I cannot believe all the f'n snow we're getting.
Sure yeah, stop your bitching you say, I know, There were winters that were worse in Michigan long before a majority of us were even thought of. Don't you just miss the happy days of going out on a snow day and going sledding in your backyard? Or even making the Sphinx snow sculpture....I tell ya snow is for kids...haha
Damn it they get it so easy!

Snow just depresses the life out of me nowadays---

and the irony of it all, is that snow is white, and covers everything in white, that and my favorite sport of all is played during this time, not to mention in this type of weather. Horrible I know.

2007 [31 Dec 2007|12:07pm]
[ mood | accomplished ]

Well here we are again at the end of yet another year.
I cannot believe ALL of the things I did this year.
I can't name any highlights because basically the whole year was a HUGE highlight. All I did this year was travel. (And I thought I did a lot of it last year)
I drove to New Orleans with Colleen in the beginning of the year, stopping in Nashville for the night. I went down to North Carolina 3 different times to see Joel, one of the times we drove to Mrytle Beach for the 4th of July weekend, Another time we went to Raleigh for our Marriage counciling. We went to DISNEY WORLD this year and stayed at a VERY nice hotel. We drove to San Diego, CA! Stopped in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Salina Utah the first time...and eating lunch in Las Vegas and Denver. And we Drove ALLLLL the way back from SAN DIEGO, but stopped in LAS VEGAS for the night to see a Alice in Chains concert...and got back stage and drank with the bassist! Oh yes...it was a night to remember. One small trip to Maryland in the beginning of November was a funeral for one of Joel's buddies in the Corp. And our final trip, brought us here to Horseheads, New York. Where Joel has gotten an apartment (chances are this is where I'll be coming to live after we get married in August)
I went to a total of 9 Hard Rock Cafes this year.
I enjoyed it. I really did. I really don't want to go back to Myrtle Beach anytime soon, cause its a dump...I like Virginia Beach better.
This year, I inched my way closer and closer to my Bachelor's degree. I found out that I am not to fond of Oakland University, but I only have a semester and a half left there (the half is if I decide to take a class in the summer). I am 30+ credits away from my BA. I can't wait until its all done. I've found a place here in Horseheads in which I'm going to transfer to for the Fall semester of 2008, I just hope that I won't be dissapointed like I was with Oakland U. The school, Elmira College, has given me the okay and everything with a C or better should transfer to them from Oakland U, it all seems too easy I feel theres a catch somewhere......I'll probably snag on something somewhere in the chaos of moving and all that junk...cause shit seems to happen all at once.

I got that new job I always wanted in the year 2007, yup I quit waitressing at last and found a job working for DTE as a Meter Reader...its a lot harder than I thought it would be, and it sucks balancing school and this job. I'm trying really hard to stick with it though.

I got my skates back on and played Co-Ed Ice Hockey. It was great! And this year I also got my cleats back on and started playing, and I am still currently, soccer with the Juanita Chachitas!!! UNO DUOS TRES, UHH!

I didn't go to many concerts this year, I saw Alice in Chains in Las Vegas, went to a couple of concerts at Harpos, one of the times I saw Static-X again. I mysteriously found myself in a bar this year, hah think that's because I turned 21 this year. And just in time for the occasion my mother and step-dad owned a bar for a short time this year.
Joel and I went to a playoff game in May to watch the Red Wings kick the shit outta San Jose (although San Jose is one of my favorite hockey teams....but always love the Wings way before that!)
And on August 21st we saw, along with my future brother, mother and father in-law and my brother, went and saw the Tigers kick the shit out of the Indians.

Although unfortunatly the Ducks took the Stanley Cup this year (I still think the Ducks suck...) and one more reason why Hasek should've STAYED retired.....
and the Boston Red Sox became World Champs. (That was cool, but I was really hoping the Rockies would've gotten it)

In 2007 I still thought that Football sucks...(okay maybe I'll watch College Football)

I did rather well in school this year, and not going over the summer was FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC! It was the break I needed. My GPA went up from a 2.5 to a 2.7 (big fricken whoopwhoop) but I'm determined to bring it up even more.

Hmmm, so I think I got all of this year covered. I made a lot of new friends, Did a lot of new things, it was great! Like I said BIG year. Next year is going to be even bigger! A lot of changes.

My Little Bro and Little (step) Sis are graduating from High School (ALREADY!?)
I'm moving out to another state
Leaving Oakland U and coming to Elmira College
Joel and I are getting MARRIED!!
(not to mention every other one of our friends)

So I think that's a good enough resolution for 2008
I hope for a good New Year for everyone, Have fun tonight! Be Safe! And I'll see y'all in "08"

[ mood | relaxed ]

Its 6 at night, I still haven't finished my paper that is due tomorrow....haha! Hey what can I say I work better under pressure! I'm just about at the halfway point through my first semester at Oakland University, thank God! I'm 54 short credits away from my Bachelor's degree now, if everything goes well this semester. I've decided to go to school this summer. Only going to take a couple of classes though.

Anyways, the trip down to New Orleans or should I say, N'awlins went well. I had fun. Although I should've left a day earlier. I didn't go to any parades, well I could've but we were at the Hard Rock Cafe...haha. I took lots of pictures saw the devastated areas that were damaged from the hurricane. Yeah it was pretty bad. The ghetto, just basically got a lot more ghetto. Hah, yeah and the last night I was there, there was a tornado! Yup, it was about 15-30 minutes away, I thought it was just a really bad storm.
Hit up a Margaritaville! Too bad I'm not quite 21 yet otherwise I would've had a drink.
All n' all it was a fun drive down, passing exit signs such as one for "Needmore Rd." and crossing over the Chunky River in Mississippi...hahahaha, made me hungry for Campbell's Soup. Visiting with Colleen and Phil in there new place was pretty cool!

Saturday I was more than happy to have the privilege of watching Hank Zetterberg get his first hat trick of his career! Speaking of hockey...I got a pair of new hockey skates about a month ago...that are the same kind that Hank wears!! Hell yeah and I've been going ice skating 2-3 times a week. Its just making me want to rent the ice out more and more. I was thinking about getting a bunch of people together and going, so if I got a day during the week would anyone of y'all be interested in coming out? (It'll be at Mt. Clemens)

Alrighty, so I'm going to go try n' work on this paper!

[10 Feb 2007|09:19am]
Howdy Y'all!
Updating here from Nashville!
I'm driving down to New Orleans with Colleen, she's moving there. We're gonna go hit up the Hard Rock Cafe here around noon, and then get back on the road.

But anyhoo, this is technically the first update of the year.
Oakland has been pretty cool!
I have 54 credits left after this semester until I get my Bachelor's Degree!!

But I think I'm going to go invade the Continental breakfast table right now, so I will update more later!

Christmas Update, and my last entry of 2006 [31 Dec 2006|09:39pm]
[ mood | sick ]

Christmas was nice, I got a new iPod from my dad, an Oakland U hoodie from my mom and a sweet ass HENRIK ZETTERBERG JERSEY from my love!!! haha!!
Two days later I got hit with that flu that's been going around, uh yeah, called into work that day. I was Still a little iffy on Thursday, felt fine on Friday then I got hit with the start of another head cold saturday morning...blah...so I'm fighting a cold now. yay.

This year...
was a GREAT year!

Toronto (especially getting stopped by customs on the way over...haha)
Cedar Point trip
Motley Crue/Aerosmith concert
Field Museum Trip to Chicago with my mom
Shaking Rudy Giuliani's hand
Red Wings games one playoff game in April and the other just 2 days before Christmas Eve
Getting accepted to Oakland University
Virginia Beach
Getting engaged!! =)

It was an awesome year!!
I didn't get those abs I wanted, haha, and I did not move out of the house or get a new job...but I'm still working at it.
So I don't really have any new New Year's resolutions, just getting settled into Oakland and getting more school done.

SO have a happy New Year, and I'll see y'all next year!

I got accepted to Oakland University today, what a sigh of relief!
Orientation for the Winter Semester is January 3rd, 2007 There I will figure out what I will be taking for classes that semester.

But I did it! No more Macomb, although there's a chance taking some classes there in the summer time and transfering them to Oakland, just to save time y'know? So I'm not going to say I'm completely done with Macomb.

Here were my grades for the semester, my GPA was 3.1
HIST 1500: A-
HIST 2100: A
Intro to Mythology: A
GEOL 1140: C+
Intro to Logic: D+

It was quite the semester, but a very educational one, and it paid off in the end I'd say. What a nice Christmas present.

There's only 5 more days until Christmas, I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!

GAH DAMN IT!!!!!!!!! [08 Dec 2006|11:21am]
[ mood | cranky ]

I want to blow this neighborhood up (should I be saying that?) next thing I need is the CIA at my door, "Umm Ms. Timmerman we're going to have to take you away cause you threatened to blow up the neighborhood"
But I'll just tell them you live here for about a week and then you'll probably wanna blow it up too.

Great, wonderful, the new Area 51....

7:46 A.M. I heard the sweet sound of pounding...hammering and scraping......yeah it was an awesome sound to wake up to....and its still going on..and its 10:00 A.M.
I'm so pissed right now...I'll admit...I havn't been woken up like this in a little over a month, yeah a month. But its still extremely annoying cause its winter, and you'd think that the building stuff would stop...but nope not here. THEY WORK YEAR ROUND!!! Never a dull moment here. I can't wait til Mom and Bob sells this place, if the ever put it back on the market, I hate living here.

When I complain I make it humorous, so feel free to laugh

Alright so the semester is almost over, I have about 6 days left of class
I'm still shooting for getting into Oakland, my grades are pretty good as far as I know. I figure, okay if I don't get a steller grade, at least keep it high enough so I can get a good GPA, and just take the class again later, that's all Oakland is looking at in order for me to transfer.

I don't know if I'll be able to get into any classes though, because usually by this time they're all full. Maybe one or two, but a semester off will be nice considering that I have been going non stop since I graduated from High School. In other words, it'll be like a summer break, cause I missed out on summer these last two years.

Alright, so here's to one more week of school, then the mad rush to get my transcripts to Oakland

More on that later

FUCK [15 Nov 2006|01:20pm]
[ mood | stressed ]

I'm in class right now, well actually waiting for the teacher to get to class...what's wrong with this picture?
I'm in the last month of the semester, and man is it going to be busy. I have so much to do...papers to write and grades to bring up....I really liked this Western Civ History class (that's the class I'm in right now) but the fucking tests are so god damn ridiculious. I studied my ass off for the first exam, and got a failing grade...and the second one we just took this past monday. We are allowed to write notes on a 5x7 notecard, but its the only notecard we get and there's 3 exams. SO I went ahead and wrote notes on the card this time, seeing as I actually STUDIED for the test last time, and wrote NOTHING on the notecard. Anyways this last test we just took only asked questions about 25% of what I had written on the fuckin card.

At least I'm doing alright in 3 out of 5 of my classes...

Philosophy sucks....I havn't been doing good at all on the exams...I'm really giving it my all...I hate it when I try so hard...and not get anywhere.

And even more to add to the boiler, Oakland will not accept me until they recieve my transcripts from Macomb AFTER the final grades have been posted. Classes end December 15-16, and I need to hand my transcripts in before December 21st...in order to be accepted.
GAH FUCKING DAMN IT....I hate school.........FUCK FUCK FUCK.....

Well...I hope all of you have a good rest of your week

This past weekend was alright.
I went to Canada Saturday...to well, look at rocks. It was an okay field trip for my Geology class. It was nice being out in the wilderness all by myself. There was a really pretty waterfall got some pictures of that.

waterfallCollapse )

Big Boy has picked up, made some good money this past weekend. I hope it stays like this for a while.
I have some essays I have to type, they really don't have a due date. They're for my Directed Studies History Class, but I want to knock em' out ASAP so I don't have to do them last minute towards the end of this semester.

First game of the season tonight.
I think the "C" matches Lidstrom all too well, although its going to take some getting used to seeing him wear it.
I missed 3/4 of the game, I came home from school in the middle of the third period. I watched the highlights after the game though. Too bad they lost, but at least the Tigers won!

New CaptainsCollapse )
